Caffe El Tostador

Caffe El Tostador is a traditional roasting company from Naples that uses an exclusive wood coffee roasting method. Traditionally coffee was roasted in wood-fired ovens. However, modern energy resources such as natural gas and electricity have taken over the leadership and are used to speed up the roasting process.

The primary difference between wood roasting and gas roasting is the speed which is needed for roasting of coffee beans and which internal temperature of the coffee beans can be received. The wood burns much slowly than natural gas and and it affects the acidity and flavour characteristics of coffee. Wooden ovens help to create a really unique coffee blend full of aroma and unforgettable taste. There are probably only about 15 companies in the world that still use wood-fired ovens for coffee roasting nowadays.
